• Each of us is responsible for our own safety and the safety of others.

• We encourage employees to make safety their first priority and analyse their own work, and the work of others, to eradicate risk and to report and act upon unsafe practices. Our employees are encouraged to identify and report hazards at work.

As one of Europe’s largest plastics recyclers, with over 135,000 tonnes recycled annually and which provides valuable feedstock for our own Sustane^® recycled polymer, we are supporting plastics’ role in the circular economy.

Across our sites we hold a number of industry accreditations including BRC, ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001. This reflects our policy of continuous improvement in all areas of our business to ensure excellence in manufacturing, efficiency in supply, and successful customer engagement.

Berry bpi has a commitment to zero waste to landfill across all of our sites. We are also a signatory to Operation Clean Sweep^®, the international plastic industry’s initiative to reduce the loss of pellets and powder to the environment. 

History & Legacy

Berry bpi packaging solutions can trace its origin back to the establishment of a small flax-warping business in Dundee in 1797. From these foundations the company continued to grow and by the Second World War, polythene had eclipsed jute as a preferred packaging material.

The dawn of the 1990s found the company, now known as British Polythene Industries, making its mark in the food, beverage, industrial and medical markets - flexible packaging had become part of the mainstream.

The company continued its successful growth and in 2016 became part of RPC Group, which was itself acquired by Berry Global in 2019.

Today Berry bpi packaging solutions remains one of Europe’s leading providers of flexible packaging solutions, meeting the needs of customers around the world.
