Building a Robust and Responsible Supply Chain

9th December 2020 by Berry bpi packaging solutions

Building a robust and responsible supply chain, established on fundamental principles, is a vital part of our new strategy and is key to ensuring bpi implements sustainable policies and is future-fit.

Our ultimate aspiration regarding our supply chain is to collaborate with every partner – regardless of size, scope of business or geography – in order to go beyond a box-ticking approach and deliver on shared commitments regarding product and process.

Although we already engage with many partners on important supply chain issues – such as materials replacement, process improvement, enhancing recycled content and moving towards closed-loop systems – there is always more that can be done. Berry bpi’s supply chain, like many other organisations’, is complex and made up of a large number of partners. However, by at least opening a dialogue, we can begin to address industry challenges and look to unlock new opportunities to operate more responsibly and sustainability.

Through this collaborative approach we can build awareness of supply chain issues, and agree solutions. By engaging with our customers and suppliers and understanding the goals that they want to achieve – for instance developing products that can be more easily reprocessed – we can focus our own work more efficiently and deliver better overall sustainable outcomes.
